Lo, have you not been accepted...?
Check your inbox. Yea verily, check it, for the time of acceptance is at hand.
It is more impossible for you to not be accepted today (Feb 6) than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle.
And (he) let open the gates of acceptance, for whomsoever should believe in him (that is, acceptance) will be granted eternal life (i.e. acceptance)
There are many more, and you certainly consult the scriptures yourself if you want more examples. That being said, best of luck that you get accepted to your favorite school.
May I ask where can I check this out? Thanks

I was looking at the TheGradCafe survey today: people who post fake admission decisions (and not just one, but many different notices to throw people off!) need to get a life.

Can anyone confirm the posts about Harvard on thegradcafe? Is it true that all who are accepted or waitlisted have already been notified (and that they will not accept anyone else)? Thanks.

I dunno, I think all the fake postings lately have finally motivated me to stop checking there.

I was referring to the Michigan postings. The Harvard posts look somewhat genuine, though. You could always contact the graduate director to see where you stand, as they do appear to have made admission offers early on in the season.

That's strange. No one has posted Harvard acceptances on thegradcafe...only a few rejections. I'm still hopeful.

Thanks, though.

Has anyone heard back from Stanford yet or know when we might? Or when their open house would be?

Thank goodness for whoever posted the fake Michigan postings on GradCafe... now I can't take that site seriously anymore! Maybe I will get some work done!

there are 3 consecutive rejections from wisconsin on GC which seems fishy , also there are no acceptances yet. Anyone heard anything from them ?

I can confirm that this is accurate as I was the first of those three to post.

I can also confirm. I wasn't one of the original three - just got mine about an hour ago, so it looks like they're rolling them out gradually.

The UIUC post just now was mine... I haven't the foggiest what stage of admissions they're in, except that there seems to be some kind of shortlist.

The department confirmed that they haven't made any offers yet. I think it's best to sit tight and not worry over postings on TheGradCafe until we hear something here.

Has anyone on this forum heard from UT Austin?
Also I see that there has been son NYU admits by phone. Could these acceptances be deemed as premature given that they have not sent any emails or should I start worrying?

Today was the worst day for me ... wait lists and rejections ...

Aside from the UT waitlist that appeared today, is there any evidence that they have begun this so called "batch of rejections/waitlists?"
I received a peculiar message from the financial aid department at Texas today. For the UCSD application, a complete FAFSA was requested-in my filing, I added all the schools I had applied to as "my schools" essentially allowing these schools to access my financial information, as UCSD instructed me to do. The message from Texas was basically "we received your FAFSA, but cannot process your financial aid as you have not yet been admitted to UT." Anybody else receive this same message? Any speculations as to the purpose of this email? Status still indicates that my application is "under review"...

I can confirm that UT Austin is starting its wait-list wave. I got wait-listed via an E-mail this evening.

Yeah, I got wait listed too (I also posted on grad cafe). It seems as though their wait list is very long then.

I emailed UW-Seattle today about PhD in Applied Math decisions. This is what I received back:
"Decisions have been made and we are in the process of notifying students. As there were roughly 300 applicants, this will take a few days.
Thanks for your patience!"

Yeah it seems UT Austin has the habit of wait listing lots of students ( I know they did this last year too).
So, I don't know exactly how the chances are for each person in the wait list (particularly as the coordinator said that we shouldn't ask about our chances)
By the way I am wait listed too (again)

Now I will have to check my email every few minutes
To those who got the further request email from Maryland, what were the questions? The last few years they have always sent four questions, but according to GC they sent only three this time.

These were the questions:
1) In either a presentation of no more than 4 slides or an essay of no more than 400 words, tell us about who you are. Knowing that we have already reviewed your previously submitted materials, what else would you like us to know?
2) What is one interesting or fun fact about yourself that you would like to share with your future AMSC classmates? (25 words or less)
3) Tell us something you wish you had done better. (400 words or less )

Why does the adcom of a PhD program care about this? Well, at least they are better than the questions they sent last year, which just covered things one would have included in the personal statement.

One of my letter writers got an email from UIUC saying I am on their shortlist with good chances and that they will be making their final decisions in a week or two, I hope this is a good sign

no word from Austin, Wisconsin or Northwestern though!

UT Austin waitlist here. Also, was contacted by Cornell applied math for more information so their decisions are probably nearing completion.

UT Austin sent out wait list mail yesterday. Maybe they send more out today.
I would say if someone doesn't get any mail this week then there is almost no chance they will be among wait lists.
Because, quite a lot of students have been wait listed already

@ Marco:
I really believe we're all in the same boat.
I got wait listed by UT Austin last year too and you can see the result
So I personally don't think being wait-listed means anything.
They just wait-list so many students that it's not a real wait-list anymore in that sense ...
Anyway still I'm sad to hear that ...
I hope Maryland can compensate for that very soon ...

May I know what information Cornell requested from you? Wow I haven't heard from any school I've applied to except for CU Boulder Applied Math reminding all applicants to send Fall 2012 grades once it's available. Well, I did contact all the schools I've applied to and sent them my Fall 2012 grades voluntarily...

Are any of the UT Austin admits/waitlists for applied?
Anyone else not heard back from UW applied? Knowing that decisions have been made and not hearing back is killing me. It seems that all the posts on GC are either accepted or accepted to unfunded MS. Maybe those who still have to hear back are the ones rejected.

Received the email yesterday late afternoon (Eastern time).

Cornell asked what I have been doing since graduation (I graduated in 2012), as I did not specify in the application.

As far as I have I know all the Texas wait lists have been all pure math.
So, if you are applied you can still hope

Just an FYI I got a rejection from Northwestern (pure math), but I had to login to see it, and they didn't email me any notification. You might want to check to see if your "Decision Status" has been updated.

Has anyone heard from Rice? Two results popped up on gradcafe a day or two ago, but I didn't see any more than that. Those may have been preemptive/unofficial, but since Rice is a small school it's also possible that only two of their admits posted.

What one professor has told me is that the department is technically unified. However, organizationally the applied math section is more autonomous than most unified departments. So how this affects application decision timelines...I do not know.

Yet another day, and no response from Northwestern. Anyone else in the same boat? It's driving me insane!
