I emailed them several weeks ago, and got this as a response:moduli wrote:Has anyone heard back from Columbia pure math? I have sent them more than one email asking about my status but didn't receive any answer so far.
"Your application is still under review. We expect that the faculty committee on admissions will return all Ph.D. decisions in mid March. You will be notified via email when a decision has been reached."
They told me they're still waiting on people to reject their offers, so they don't have a good idea right now. Said they'd be more certain by the week before April 15. Except they haven't rejected ANYONE, so for all I know that just means they're witholding my rejection status until then.
I don't like Columbia. It is the only school that is quiet all the time, and did not answer my email even when I emailed to add an extra credential to my application (a 2 months research program with a famous professor). Northwestern and Michigan answered me promptly. Columbia even has a very early deadline.
