Good luck to all September 28th Test Takers!
...because a little well-wishing never hurts. See y'all at the finish line!
Re: Good luck to all September 28th Test Takers!
Thanks. I could use some luck. Same to you!
Re: Good luck to all September 28th Test Takers!
This was my fourth GRE. Maybe I'm better from practice, but I thought this was easier than previous tests. There were fewer multiple answer ("which of answer is false..." "I/II/III" type answers), so it went faster. A lot of the calculus problems had tricks which made their evaluation faster, less grungy calculations. Unlike the previous ones, I thought this was in line with the practice exam in terms of difficulty.
What did you guys think?

Did you do the September, October, and April tests this past app period? Have your scores increased each time?redcar777 wrote:This was my fourth GRE. This was my first one and I don't think it went too well.

Re: Good luck to all September 28th Test Takers!
My second attempt. I found it much tougher than last time. Well, at least longer(maybe I didn't know some of the tricks which redcar did). Last time I managed to attempt all questions. This time, only 58. So, not too happy. But then you never know with the MGRE. I've seen cases where people attempt 55 questions and still get above the 80th percentile.

On my test (October 2012) I managed to attempt only 51 problems, and still got 91%, so don't lose hopeGasquet wrote:My second attempt. I found it much tougher than last time. I took it today at UCLA.
I knew about 55 of them. Was able to whittle down the possible answers on most to 1 or 2, so threw in some educated guess on 9. Didn't answer 2. This was my first time taking it.

Thanks. This proves two things which I suspected.math_stu wrote:On my test (October 2012) I managed to attempt only 51 problems, and still got 91%, so don't lose hope
1) The negative marking hurts, a lot(as it did to me last time).
2) Which version of the test you have given makes a huge difference, as the conversion from raw score to scaled score is completely different for different tests. In fact, I am quite sure that it is different for different locations as well, which makes no sense.
Re: Good luck to all September 28th Test Takers!
Did your test center tell you the results would be in 6 weeks, as well? Because I was under the impression they would be known at the end of October, as is stated on the website.
Re: Good luck to all September 28th Test Takers!
Yes, but I believe that the six weeks applies to the results in the mail.
Re: Good luck to all September 28th Test Takers!
Ah, I see. That clears up the confusion then. Would you happen to also know whether in the past the results were available at the latest on the date specified on the website, or is that date actually the one you get to know them no matter what?ppham27 wrote:Yes, but I believe that the six weeks applies to the results in the mail.
Re: Good luck to all September 28th Test Takers!
I was told the same thing. But, they also said ETS won't be sending scores by post anymore. Also told the same thing last time when it referred to scores by post.Ryker wrote:Did your test center tell you the results would be in 6 weeks, as well? Anyway, from my experience last time and from what I read about the times before that, the scores have always been available online on the date they have mentioned on the website. In fact, even the time is right on schedule. Midnight in the US Eastern time zone(or maybe it was central? If you want to know the exact hour, look up the thread of Nov. 2012 scores

Here's hoping you got the score you wanted

Re: Good luck to all September 28th Test Takers!

790 (79th percentile)
Well, at least it is 8 percentile points higher than last year.
Re: Good luck to all September 28th Test Takers!
Scaled score 860.
90%.
90%.
Re: Good luck to all September 28th Test Takers!
I got 780 (77%). I answered 55, and I knew that I had 1 wrong as soon as the test was over. My score indicates that I probably had several more wrong. I'm a little disappointed, but the score should be good enough.
