Hello!
I am a computer sci undergrad major. I took the following courses during my undergrad. Could someone please suggest any additional books I must go through to get a decent score (>80%). Thanks v much!
Advanced Calculus - at the level of Calculus - Thomas and Finney
Linear Algebra
Probability & Statistics - Miller and Freund's probability and statistics for engineers
Optimization & Operations Research
Intro to PDE
I did not take any courses on ODEs, Real Analysis, Topology etc. I am thinking of brushing up Thomas/Finney Calculus and my Intro to Linear Algebra book but could you please suggest what in your opinion are good books to study for the exam?
thnx

Prep books - for CS major
Re: Prep books - for CS major
I don't see any abstract algebra mentioned... and it's a pretty big part of the test.
Re: Prep books - for CS major
it was very briefly introduced as part of linear algebra .. I didn't take a seperate course on abstract algebra. any suggestions?

Re: Prep books - for CS major
Gallian's "Contemporary Abstract Algebra" seems to reasonably cover the test material.
Of course the purists will claim that only Lang or some such will suffice.
