Being a graduate student in the US without additional funds

Post by NorStudent » Sun Apr 20, 2014 10:08 am

Hello, I'm a math student from Norway. Seeing as all education is free here, attending university for my Bachelor's is not a problem, even with my financial difficulties. However, the prices in the US are pretty steep. I'd like to go there, as I am doing fairly well. So I am wondering: is it possible to study, live and eat as a graduate student in the US with the funding one receives as a TA and/or other resources that most students receive?

Most programs have good funding for admitted students. You will not be rich, but it will be enough. The hard part, actually, is being admitted.
