Just took the general GRE yesterday and scored V: 153 and Q: 170. I am wondering if my verbal score would create problems in admission. I am waiting for my GRE math subject test results (Oct 24th). I hope to get at least 40 questions correct. I have a great academic record in mathematics with good grades in my bachelors and masters in mathematics courses and hope to get solid letters of recommendation. I have bachelors in EE and MS in ECE and have been working after MS for over 2.5 years. Applying for PhD in Applied Mathematics.
Suggestions for preparing a good SOP?

Is BrianEvans a poorly designed Turing test entry? The posts almost make sense but are completely irrelevant.
In response to the original query, I do not think the verbal score will count against you. My impression is that it is a very minor factor in most decisions.
