Accepting an offer and then rejecting
Can we accept 2 offers and then reject one of them later? Has anyone done this before?
Re: Accepting an offer and then rejecting
That sounds a little contradictory. Accepting entails a commitment to a contract of employment as a PhD student. It is never acceptable for university would accept a student and then reject them; why should it be asymmetric from the perspective of the employee?
Re: Accepting an offer and then rejecting
Yeah this sounds like a terrible, awful, atrocious, redundant-adjective-inducing idea.

I believe if you accept an offer, it's binding. When you want to accept another offer, you have to get a written release from the first school. I don't know what the name of the document that states this, but you can easily find it.
Re: Accepting an offer and then rejecting
No matter whether you can do it or not, you should have not done that.

The answer is yes, provided that you do so in writing prior to April 15: http://cgsnet.org/april-15-resolutionlaplaceiitkgp wrote:Can we accept 2 offers and then reject one of them later? Has anyone done this before?
