Hi all,
I took the GRE General Test in Nov. 2016 and got: V: 152, Q: 163, AW: 4.5
This is my 2nd attempt. The first time I took it was in Oct. 2013, when I got: V: 157, Q: 159, AW: 4.5
I'm applying to Applied Math PhD programs so since my emphasis is Math, I'll definitely send my most recent score to universities, in fact I have already sent it to 4 for free on test day.
The question is, should I also send my previous score along with the new one to other programs so that they can see I got a better Verbal score in the past? Is it good? Is it.. whatever- as in there's nothing to lose? Or can it actually hurt my chances a little bit?
Please give your honest feedback.
Thanks

Depends what school you're going to. I don't imagine many math programs care about your verbal score because knowing the main purpose of a passage about Sartre's view on utilitarianism won't help you in math.
Having said that, really good schools that are competitive get a lot of applicants and will probably weed people out based on GRE scores.
