Transcripts for Bloomington

I dediced to apply to Indiana Bloomington at the last moment, but they want the applicants to send official transcripts to them. However the post mail in my country works extremely slow and I think in the best-case scenario the graduate office will receive these transcripts by late February. I wonder if anyone had any experience with that school? If I don't mail official transcripts to them, will my application be considered or not? Is it possible to send them scanned copies of official transcripts with dean's signature and official insitution stamp?

That's rather strange requirement, the majority of schools are content themselves with unofficial transcripts for review purposes...

Typically you send unofficial transcripts and then when they accept you they'll ask you send them the official transcripts.

Well that's not the case with Bloomington. Stony Brook and UMass also require official (paper) versions of transcripts for an application to be reviewed.

I find that hard to believe but if thats what they require then there's really no ambiguity about what you must do.

It is quite annoying (and expensive as I have to send transcripts from several universities). Other than Bloomington, of the places I have applied to Michigan - Ann Arbor, and Oregon required official transcripts sent by the universities themselves.

Bloomington http://www.math.indiana.edu/graduate/admissions.phtml
"Applicants to the graduate program are required to submit the following for admission consideration"
"one official transcript from each institution attended—must be in an envelope sealed by the university/college or an eTranscript from the university/college to gradmath@indiana.edu "

Michigan - Ann Arbor http://www.rackham.umich.edu/admissions/transcripts
"Submit an official transcript for each institution, from which you will obtain a degree, directly to Rackham by the application deadline."
"Submit only official transcripts. These bear the issuing institutional seal and the official signature of the Registrar (or Recorder of Records)."

Oregon http://math.uoregon.edu/grad-app
"Send official transcripts to the University of Oregon Office of Admissions. You must send official transcripts from every postsecondary institution you have attended, regardless of whether you earned a degree there. The mailing address is: Office of Admissions, 1217 University of Oregon, Eugene, OR 97403-1217."

I have received an email saying that not all of my official transcripts have been received yet and that they are required for admissions consideration even though I uploaded unofficial pdfs as part of my ap.

I applied to Michigan and just scanned an official transcript. They said it was fine. If and when they accept me, they'll get their official sealed transcript.
