Hey everyone,
I am a PhD applicant in this admission season, and have been slowly hearing back from schools. I was accepted to both industrial engineering and applied mathematics programs and am having a difficult decision deciding between the two.
In undergraduate I did research in numerical analysis of differential equations, which I enjoyed, however one thing I've always liked is putting math in context. I did courses in statistics, math, and CS in undergrad/masters and being able to combine all of them was something I enjoyed.
Anyone else trying to decide between these two types of programs and have any insights/advice?
