Looks like Oklahoma has finally started sending out decisions
for current and prospective graduate students in mathematics
https://mathematicsgre.com/
For example a friend of mine was put on the Utah waitlist (no more info given) and he contacted them and they told him he we in the top of his area’s waitlistyoung556646 wrote:For example, OSU sent out the complete waitlist (of course names replaced by some sort of codes) for each applicant on the list, and it contained the ranking for upper half of the waitlist and the list of lower half applicants without detailed ranking. On the other hand, Duke did not sent any information about the ranking. Maybe some of the schools which do not provide the rankings in initial notification will tell you about your ranking if you ask them.riffraff11235 wrote:I've seen some posters here and on Gradcafe who seem to know how far up they are on certain waitlists. For instance, I saw two people say they were high up on Dartmouth's waitlist, but my waitlist letter didn't mention anything about my position relative to other applicants. Do they only mention this if you're near the top or something?
Ah, I see. Thank you for the info.fmcgla wrote:I reached out the them about a week ago. This was their response.eight887 wrote:Has anyone heard anything from BU recently?
"We have not yet sent out all PhD admission decisions at this time, but we’re hoping to have the remaining final decisions sent out very soon. If you don’t hear from us by the end of this month, please feel free to get in touch again to confirm the status of your application."
Did you email them?young556646 wrote:For those on Duke's waitlist, I got an email response that it is not likely that any decision will be made before early April, and they are even not sure at this point about the possibility of any additional offers.
Yes.ponchan wrote:Did you email them?young556646 wrote:For those on Duke's waitlist, I got an email response that it is not likely that any decision will be made before early April, and they are even not sure at this point about the possibility of any additional offers.

narrow it down to your top offer (or two) now, decline the others, wait patiently for waitlist decisions, repeat if necessarysacamano wrote:How and when will yall make your decision do you think?
If you mean UM Ann Arbor, I just got rejected earlier today.acrt19 wrote:Has anyone else not heard back from Michigan yet?
I heard some people contacted the department and got rejections or were told they might still accept others. I contacted them last week and haven't gotten a replymgf wrote:got an there acceptance myself on 2/21eight887 wrote:Has anyone heard anything from BU recently?
This is true for every school. If you're not going to attend a school, decline as soon as possible so schools can make more offers and we can all make our decisions. April 15 is fast approaching. This is a kind and humble request to everyone who got accepted by _______ . If you're not planning to go there, please be kind enough to decline as soon as possible. Thank you!!
I’m having difficulty deciding. What are your criteria for deciding on schools? (asking everyone)blahquaker wrote:This is true for every school. It varies a lot. If your research interests are specified, pick the school based on their strength in that area. If you're more undecided, probably a school with a larger department. If you also want to continue into academia afterwards, look at how each school places their graduates into postdocs. And location, money are also not horrible things to take into account if you care about them since it IS your career for six years. You decision is gonna depend on how much you care about each of these categories. Maybe make a spreadsheet?Yello wrote:I’m having difficulty deciding. What are your criteria for deciding on schools? I heard from a grad student at minnesota that normally they make 50 funded offers (get around 450 applicants), but this year the grad school only allowed them to make 30 offers (for phd). Their visit weekend is next weekend so they make more offers then?yso6 wrote:Is Minnesota going to send out a second round of offers? I have sent them emails but haven't had any response. ( One at beginning of March, one last week)yso6 wrote:Is Minnesota going to send out a second round of offers? I've emailed them almost two weeks ago, and I still haven't heard back from them.
Guess we'll just have to wait.daruma wrote:I have sent them emails but haven't had any response. ( One at beginning of March, one last week)yso6 wrote:Is Minnesota going to send out a second round of offers? I've emailed them almost two weeks ago, and I still haven't heard back from them.
Congrats on those two! It seems like Austin hasn't sent out any rejections yet, so it must be a long waitlist. I emailed the grad director who said there's a chance, but the chance seems to be slim. I have 1 offer that I'm lukewarm about, and I'm waiting for an (unlikely) international program.Bottomology wrote:I’m on the Austin waitlist. Right now I’m deciding between Penn and Northwestern, and I’d also heavily consider Austin if accepted. Guess the waiting game continues...
Which ones are you waiting on?MMDE wrote:Cannot believe we're just over a week away from April and I have still yet to hear from 8 or 9 schools. I emailed all of them as well and only got 3 responses, 2 of which were clearly automated.
Are you on a waiting list for Minnesota and UT Austin or have you got no response whatsoeveryoltin wrote:I'm still waiting for UMN and UT Austin. I have an offer that I want to decline, but I want to always have two options... I will probably wait until I hear back from these two schools, which unfortunately might be all the way until the deadline.
I contacted UT Austin and they told me I could get an offer by the deadline. I didn't contact Minnesota.daruma wrote:Are you on a waiting list for Minnesota and UT Austin or have you got no response whatsoever
Madison's visit day is tomorrow (March 26th) and Minnesota's visiting day is March 30th. They are unlikely to send out additional acceptances until after their visiting days.daruma wrote:Which ones are you waiting on?MMDE wrote:Cannot believe we're just over a week away from April and I have still yet to hear from 8 or 9 schools. Thank you very much for the information! Actually UCR contacted me last week and due to the letter I believed that they had not made any offer before. (Also proved by a post in gradcafe) So I was guessing if NEU were in the same situation.johanMo wrote:q8099086 wrote:I just found that NEU has not sent any PhD offer in gradcafe..........Do they want to wait until 415?
I believe I saw someone on here claim that they were admitted to northeastern sometime in February. I also highly doubt they would wait till the very last day to give out all the admission, that’s just unbeneficial to everyone.
Someone else here claims they got into UCR on 3/1 or so. Just because they are still looking at applications doesn't mean they haven't given acceptances yet. It's the same thing with IU Bloomington. They emailed me saying they're still looking at applications though some people already claimed they got in.q8099086 wrote:Thank you very much for the information! I got an offer around mid-to-late February, with an acceptance deadline of March 15. Turned it down a few weeks ago, but I don't think they make a ton of offers so it's possible no one who uses gradcafe got an offer.johanMo wrote:q8099086 wrote:I just found that NEU has not sent any PhD offer in gradcafe..........Do they want to wait until 415?

3/17 - I e-mail CU-Boulder asking about status/letting them know I'm still interested
3/20 - I get a response saying they are just about to open the waitlist and I was high on it but no guarantees of an offer
3/21 - I get an offer
In my case I got this response when I emailed them back in mid-March.Crosscap4 wrote:My experience with Boulder (pure math):daruma wrote:Which ones are you waiting on?MMDE wrote:Cannot believe we're just over a week away from April and I have still yet to hear from 8 or 9 schools.
