I just declined U Utah today. Best of luck!oldtableaux wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 8:35 amIf you have been offered admission at UC Davis, UofUtah or USC and have decided not to go there, I would be grateful if you could kindly decline those offers as soon as possible. I have been waitlisted at these schools.
Re: Fall 2020 Sweat Thread
Update: weirdly, just got an email from Purdue saying that they're waiting for approval to possibly make a few more offers, so good news may be coming for some folks.

Same question on Imperial. Gradcafe mentions some entries: it looks as if they consider applications more or less "all year long", which makes the analysis of offer timeline little complicated.
Could anyone share, how long does it take between the application submission date and the interview?

I didn't apply to Imperial but I've been accepted to Warwick and LSGNT (joint programme UCL/KCL/Imperial). You should expect an invitation to interview in 4 to 6 weeks from UK universities. Perhaps the COVID-19 situation has caused some delay on this...

Has anyone heard from pure math program at Northwestern?
Re: Fall 2020 Sweat Thread
If you are not going to UIC or nc-state then please decline, it would be most helpful to us mortals! Thanks!

I just want to go to sleep and wake up on April 15, the waiting is not fun lol.

If a school asks you to send in an electronic official copy of your transcript, then what should I think of this? I'm sweating over here guys. Could this be the first school I get into? Fingers crossed.
Note: I already submitted my transcript to them, but it was an uploaded PDF copy.

you can request your school to send an official electronic copy to that schoolwonnetz wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 5:08 pmIf a school asks you to send in an electronic official copy of your transcript, then what should I think of this? Re: Fall 2020 Sweat Thread
What can I expect if a school waitlisted me asked my recent activities in the past year?
I am an international student graduated from a US institution last year. The graduate director sent me an email asking my activities in the past year and specifically asked whether I left the US and returned home. The last email I got from him said I was high on their waitlist and an offer might come the week before 4/15, ...which sounds promising.
I am so afraid that the current COVID-19 situation will affect their decision making process.

Thanks!
I don't know why I didn't mention UMass Amherst in my last post. I repeat. If you received offers from the following places - UC Davis, U Utah, USC or UMass Amherst - and do not plan to attend, kindly please decline those offers as soon as possible.
Re: Fall 2020 Sweat Thread
I have made my decision! Apologies to those waitlisted at institutions I was accepted at -- I hope you get the chance now!

Is there anyone else still waiting on UMN? I've emailed them twice and no response. I can safely assume it's a rejection, but still.

Is there anyone who has not been emailed by Toronto yet? There have been some postings of people who received a generic email saying they are rejected and will get an official notice within the next weeks in case they haven't received an offer of place yet -- I have neither received that generic email nor an offer...
I'd love love love to go, just hoping it's not all over yet.

I heard they aren't accepting anyone else due to covid-19. I know for a fact UA is that way as well.Torwel407 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 6:51 pmIs there anyone who has not been emailed by Toronto yet? Re: Fall 2020 Sweat Thread
Do we have to respond to our current offers before Apr 15? What should be our course of action for those of those that are waitlisted or haven't heard back yet from institutions?
Re: Fall 2020 Sweat Thread
Yes, you will end up losing your place if you don't. You could ask for an extension at some places.

Hi all, if any of you have offers from Michigan state and aren’t planning to attend could you please decline sooner than later? I’ve been in touch with their grad director who told me I’m at the top of their waitlist and could have a decision this weekend based on the responses they get. Thanks to all and best of luck as we start this next chapter!

Just emailed the grad director at Notre Dame, he said they don't have any more offers to make and that all of their spots are filled for this year. He said you should expect official notice later today.

Reached out to Michigan and was told I am top of the waitlist for their AIM program at the moment, but they are still waiting to hear back on an offer. If you are on their waitlist and dont intend to attend, please decline! It is my top choice program and I want to be able to withdraw from other schools and open up spots there.
Re: Fall 2020 Sweat Thread
Does anyone know anything about Penn State or Cuny? I reached out and still haven't heard anything.
Re: Fall 2020 Sweat Thread
Has anyone ever heard of anyone getting accepted on the 15th?
Re: Fall 2020 Sweat Thread
Yes, this totally happens. The 15th is a shitshow, and many people wait until the 15th to decline offers, so there can be a lot of movement including many offers on the 15th because programs know offers given after the 15th are likely to be too late

Actually, UCSD just emailed me that decisions after April 15 is likely. There’s some guidelines on getting written permission from the university you’ve already accepted to accept another offer that was made after April 15.
