Looking for some applied mathematics PhD programs or stats programs

Post by YitingZ » Fri Nov 01, 2019 5:29 pm

Hello I am looking for some advises on what level of school I should be applying to / what programs would fit my resume and interests.

Undergrad: : UC Irvine

Majors: Applied Mathematics
Minor: Statistics
International student doing undergraduate in US

GPA: 3.80

GRE General Revised Test:
Q: 169
V: 155
W: 3.0

mGre: Just took it this month, should between 80 and 85 percentile.

Research: I wrote a research paper on random matrix theory, which I've submitted to both journal and airXiv. I also did some advanced readings on random matrix theory (mainly by Roman Vershynin).

looking for PhD in applied math (it would be best if it has some tracks which have connections with machine learning or algorithm) or Stats PhD.

Recommendation: I am very close with all the faculty members and one was the supervisor of my paper and he is in UW now.

Can anyone please give me some suggestions of the colleges which fit my profile. You can also name some safe and some really good colleges as well.
Thank you so much !!
