Major(s): Mathematics
Minor(s): N/A
GPA: 3.62/4.00
Type of Student: White Female
GRE Revised General Test: Not taken. Strange how some assume everybody has silent room conditions to maintain ETS integrity requirements to take a valid GRE general test from home. Covid.

GRE Subject Test in Mathematics: Covid.

Program Applying: Pure Mathematics [ Mathematics, PhD only ]
Research Experience: Completed expository 'research' on Abel's Impossibility Theorem and submitted some ODE stuff onto arXiv. Waiting on a journal to accept Abel. Additionally wrote an expository on the 27 lines. But due to complexity, time constraint, and lost .tex file. The LaTeX formatting of it is very sad. Though I'm sure the schools can find it from my application if they follow my CV.
Pertinent Activities or Jobs: Was a grader and tutor for my undergraduate institution, took part in the Ross Mathematics as Counselor, AWM chapter treasurer, and Math Club member.
Any Miscellaneous Points that Might Help: 7 graduate math courses, all As. Mentioned Cum Laude, 2 departmental monetary scholarships, monetary research funding, deans list-multiple semesters. On my transcript it says, graduated with departmental honors. I took a fifth year, because my third year I only took finals and midterms and never showed up to my math classes due to migraines.
--> My math GPA isn't calculated by the school but 85 credit hours+ of math are of 3.72 GPA (self-calculated). Similarly, I skipped Calculus kind-of (It is sadly very complicated- obtained AP BC Credit of 5 and was able to skip Calc 1&2 but chose to take Calc 1 and by Calc 2 felt bored and withdrawed. I don't think this is obvious for the schools however). Also, I'm a first generation college-student?
Any Other Info That Shows Up On Your App and Might Matter: I'm very simple so nothing. Placed some conferences attended and mentioned a poster presentation on Abel. Mentioned some programming proficiency. I'm not great at selling myself.
Reach Schools: Probably all rejects. I also completed these 16 applications a month early and many people have already heard back.

I thought the last 3 were safeties, but then I realized that they aren't.

Some R1 institutions were found and hopefully the rec letters can be submitted in time for the following 5:
Update: As of 02.05.2020, I'm being rather lazy with the rec letters submissions for these below.

New Selection
University of Kansas - PhD Math/ 02.05.2021 don't mind thus Incomplete application.
University of South Carolina - PhD Math/ 02.05.2021 don't mind thus Incomplete application.
ISU - PhD Math/ 02.10.2021 Formally withdrew for you guys! Did so because they consider incomplete applications for applicants that passed their screening. For future applicants, this is a great safety! You pass a preliminary screening no cost and only then do you get letter writers and pay the application fee (under the condition that you passed their preliminary application screening.)
UW- Milwaukee - PhD Math / 02.05.2021 don't mind thus Incomplete application.
Tulane - PhD Math/ 02.05.2021 don't mind thus Incomplete application.
I think a good way for keeping sanity during this time is having solid backup plans in case "Plan A" doesn't work out.
- I would advise to keep going and not worry about comparing yourself to these statistics, and to never let rejections stop you in life.
Find a way to make things work or come up with plans you've never even dreamed of.
Good luck to current and future applicants.
