Are programs seeing many more or fewer applications than past years?
Curious to know; if anyone has insider info please do tell

According to our undergrad chair, we received “about the same number” of applications than last year. Our dept does have more funding than last year so theoretically speaking it’s easier this year. Of course YMMV depending on the school, your profile, etc.

Is this true at other places? Just saw a post on Reddit that many programs are seeing 2x applications, although not math programs.
