Stony Brook Interviews?

I interviewed with Stony Brook Applied Math and Statistics PhD program. I was wonder if anyone else interviewed with them and how the admission decision was going. I saw someone else post as if they got an offer the same day as the interview. The graduate chair told me, "Well if it's a yes, expect an email within 3 weeks."

Applied Math just asks you to discuss your background, why your interested in the program, what track you want to be placed in and why.

I received an email from the graduate administrator about being accepted a week after I interviewed with the coordinator, and then a few days later received invitation to the graduate open house at the end of the month.

When I interviewed with Stony Brook, they wanted to make sure I knew what the program was about (i.e. my research interests aligned with theirs) and they wanted to know how serious I would be about an offer. It's also a time for you to ask questions, and you should make sure you have some. This will show them that you've done your research on that school and are invested.
