Hi, I'm a phd candidate this cycle who did not have any luck. I'm thinking of applying for math masters in Europe, in specific university of Bonn.
It is far cheaper than any other options that I have (unfunded masters in the US).
What would be the disadvantage that I might be unaware?

Also, does anyone know if there are any other options that I can consider? I'm interested in both pure and applied math.

What do you mean by disadvantage? Bonn has a great math program.

Funded master's degrees exist in the U.S.; mine was funded, for example. Try looking at programs that are not "popular," i.e. not too large. They oftentimes have funding available for their master's students because they need TAs. If you are a U.S. citizen and underrepresented minority, check out bridge to doctorate programs. There are also post-bacc math programs apparently, but I am not particularly educated about those.

An alternative is to get a math-related career that involves some degree of research, if you intend on trying again for a PhD in a year or two.
