I've likely got at least one funded offer, but I want to be at a school where there's strong research in the physics of string theory in addition to mathematics. It is a lot to ask, I know. I still want to be fluent in mathematics and physics because they lend to each other and I'm fascinated by both. Anyways, OSU has both sides of research. I was rejected this year but was told that I'm competitive and should apply again. Is this something common to send because OSU wants the application numbers? Do I stand a chance? I did apply late this year, but clearly there's people even more competitive if I didn't get in this first try
