I attended the Prospective Student Weekend, and I haven't heard anything. However, I think they invited about twice as many pure students as they can fund, so it's possible they've accepted some other people.

Has anyone heard anything about Cornell Pure? I saw someone said their friend got accepted but have not seen any first-hand accounts of this? I feel like I haven't seen anything - rejections, acceptances, or waitlists. Has anyone emailed?

Mailed Purdue about my status -

"Thank you for your continued interest in our program. We have sent out our first round offers. We have also sent out 1st & 2nd round denials. We hope to make more offers, but we are unsure yet if we will be able to. It might be towards the end of March before we know. We have to wait until we hear back from those that have been offered. We had 500 applications with only 35 open spots."

So if you haven't yet received anything, you weren't in the first OR second round of rejections, so not a bad thing at all.

If you got Purdue and have decided to not go, please decline!

I have a friend who is waitlisted by umich. I am not sure if they will have more spots on waitlist.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by "got waitlisted"? Did they send your friend an email directly telling them that they are waitlisted or did your friend reach out to them first? Was this after they were interviewed?

They sent me an e-mail that there is an important update on my application. Then I checked the application portal and saw the rejection letter.

Got an offer from Oxford too. But I think unless you get lucky and get awarded a scholarship (which is pretty difficult for non-UK citizens) you are unlikely to get decent funding.

Emailed NYU got this response: Thank you for your email. At this time the fellowship committee is reviewing files and making decisions. Decisions regarding applications should be decided soon. Once the progress is complete you will get an update.

This was for pure.

I also emailed nyu today (courant, applied math track) but they replied that all the info can be accessed online (not the portal but the courant graduate admission website) I was totally confused… they didn’t even tell me when the result is going to come out…

If you are talking about part III then I am not really sure (I think there is an international scholarship scheme but that just reduces tuition). I feel like Cambridge has more funding than Oxford, but that could be wildly wrong. But for both it is very very difficult to get funding of the same quality you would see at US schools. I know many non-UK citizens who still have to pay hefty tuition even for the DPhil. I think most funded applicants need to get a scholarship like the gates scholarship in order to get a stipend and so on and you cannot really count on being funded through TAing or RAing.

emailed UMich a couple of days ago, they responded today that they already sent the first round of interview invitations (myself not included) and that they may have a few more rounds in the coming weeks. Probably can consider myself waitlisted since they asked if I have deadlines coming up.

I emailed Toronto a few days ago and they said they already sent out first rounds offers. They hope to send out more by early April.

I was accepted in January. A friend of mine (international, I'm domestic) hasn't heard anything back as far as I know.

If you were not invited to the open house. You’re most likely not on their shortlist of applicants and they’re most likely not considering your application. That could mean rejection. Do email if you are unsure!

Unfortunately no. Here’s what I received on 2/21 in email when I asked about my chance of getting an offer.

“Now that everything is contingent on the choices that everyone (including you yourself) are making, there is no way that we can give an accurate prediction of what might happen. We guess that probably there won't be any movement on the list for at least several weeks at this point, but even that is just a guess.”
