By the way, if you didn't hear anything back, you can email them to ask. You can either email the office, or you can also email the director and/or your interviewer. From my experience, they will reply.

I got waitlisted at the university of Arizona. If you received an offer, but have more attractive options please decline as soon as possible. It's my last chance.

Has anyone heard anything from UC-Santa Cruz? After asking for an update around 3 weeks ago they just said they were reading through all the applications but I haven't heard anything since. With only 3 weeks until April 15th I'm surprised I haven't seen anything on this site or GradCafe about any news.

I sent them an email last week. They replied they have sent the first round of offers, and they would send rejects in late March.

I was notified I was on the shortlist for UT Feb 6, and was formally admitted Feb 27. The in-person open house is tomorrow. I put this in the thread for UT Austin, but since this seems to be a common question I thought I'd put this here too. Hope it's helpful!physicsofcomica wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 6:29 pmAre there really going to be any more decisions? It seems like most grad schools have gone quiet. The only schools I have seen almost nothing about is UT and UCSD. I'm just beginning to wonder if I should start to decide now.
Re: Fall 2023 Sweat Thread
I also sent them an e-mail regarding the application status and they gave me the same response.(I asked for an update 4 weeks ago) But my friend received an information that they had some problems on application process. So the reason why we haven't heard anything from them may be related to this. I don't know whether 'admitted' students got an admission e-mail. I believe they have already sent out their first round offers but I am not sure about this as well.SoggyGarlicPowder wrote: ↑Sat Mar 25, 2023 2:16 amHas anyone heard anything from UC-Santa Cruz? I think we've finally reached that time of the year.
Anyone who has got a UMass acceptance but isn't planning to go, please decline your offer.
It's my top choice, and I'd really appreciate an early-ish offer.
Saw a rejection on GradCafe and got shitscared.

Re: Fall 2023 Sweat Thread
Out of curiosity, do programs look down on people who accept their offer last minute? I've had some people tell me that some programs might get mad that I accept their offer on April 15 even though I'm waiting on other schools. Thoughts on this?
For the record, I already dropped my other schools to help others and I'm just waiting on 2 more schools!

I'm in the same exact boat as you. UMass is my top choice as well and I'm currently on the waitlist. I freaked when I saw the rejection on Gradcafe too, but the deadline is quickly approaching and so if you're accepted but not planning on going then please decline your offer!hilberthotel wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 12:57 pmI think we've finally reached that time of the year.

How did you get to know about the waitlist btw?
Did your status change or did you email the DGS?

I emailed the DGS and they told me. I wish I knew where I was on the waitlist but I feel like if I weren't somewhat closer to the top then they wouldn't give me a sense of hope.hilberthotel wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 3:56 amI hope we both get inmacmath7 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2023 6:50 pmI'm in the same exact boat as you. Has anyone come off from Rutgers’ waitlist so far?

Has anyone heard from University of Maryland(AMSC) and Cornell(pure Math) programs? I know I have seen some acceptances on gradcafe, but I have not really seen that many posts about these programs.
Re: Fall 2023 Sweat Thread
Cornell Pure I’ve heard nothing at all and tried emailing a few weeks ago and didn’t get a response back
Re: Fall 2023 Sweat Thread
I saw someone on the forum here get admitted on the 23rd or so of march. So they must've gotten off. I'll let you know if I get off, although I don't anticipate it.
Re: Fall 2023 Sweat Thread
Has anyone received admission from UCSD? I only saw the rejections on the GradCafe.
BTW, does anyone here also apply for EPFL? I submitted my application last year. However, there has been no update on my status so far. The long wait causes so much anxiety to me QAQ.

This might be a long shot, but if anybody is no longer considering Stanford it would be appreciated if you could decline your acceptance. Getting in to Stanford off the waitlist would be a dream come true! Hope everybody has had a smooth application cycle, and good luck to those still waiting!!

Anyone who has not heard from CMU or got waitlist email from it? I have seen all kind of results (rej/ad/wl) on gradcafe, but I have not heard anything.
Besides, anyone who still has not heard from NYU?

No to be a bearer of bad tidings, but last year I applied to CMU and never heard anything from them (even to this day). I thought it was rather disrespectful and did not apply this cycle. If you have a contact in the department I would encourage sending an inquiry.Boplicity wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 12:57 pmI haven’t heard anything from CMU either. Very few admissions are expected at UCSD this year. Got too many acceptances last year and then a 50% wage increase for TAs after the strike.Leaf Chen wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 8:29 amHas anyone received admission from UCSD? I only saw the rejections on the GradCafe.

Few admissions are expected. However, I am quite irritated at their inefficiency in communicating with applicants. They keep us waiting without any explanations as the deadline approaches. Thank you for the information. Did they inform you of the rejection via email? I sent out a letter to inquire about my application status last week. There has been no reply so far. I am not sure whether I should hold expectations. BTW, since I didn’t submit GRE and sGRE scores (optional and strongly recommended), is it possible that they directly dismiss my application?BangentTundle wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 11:52 amI received a rejection from UCSD while ago. Is there an official waitlist for TAMU? I saw a bunch of entries on gradcafe but when I emailed them they only said that they’re currently looking at making second round offers.
