We are just two weeks away from the April 15th response deadline. I kindly ask that if you have several offers that you notify the programs you do not wish to attend of your decision. This gives the department enough time to accept people off of the waitlist. According to Ohio State, only about a third of admitted students have responded to their offer. Rejecting your unwanted offers in a timely fashion could make a huge difference in the academic trajectory of someone's life. Myself and many others would greatly appreciate it. Can’t believe people are holding on so many offers. At this point, make a decision on shortlisting your offers while you wait for your “reach” to reply.

The whole system is in gridlock because a lot of people are just sitting on it.

Yes, it is in your right, no one can deny that. But the reason you are waiting for your reach is because people with offers from those places are doing the same exact thing.

So please everyone, be sensible about this process… as much as it is competitive it is also collaborative. We all want to pursue the joy of math…
