Waitlist at 4 Schools

I've been waitlisted at 4 schools for pure math. They are all ranked between 40 and 60. What do you think is the probability that I get into at least one of them?

For someone who wants to study mathematics, you should know your question is not well-defined.

We don't know what schools they are, what profile you have, how many people are on their waitlists, where you rank in these waitlists, the amount of funding left at the department, etc...

It’s a perfectly well-defined question, albeit hard to answer. All they’re asking for is an estimate, so it’s really just a question of expected value for an applicant at a school in this range with average waitlists and an average placement on said waitlist etc…

All they’re asking for is an estimate. I don’t think this is unreasonable to ask, but I certainly can’t give a good answer.

All I know is I'm at the top of the waitlist for one school, and "quite a bit down" for another. The 4 schools are U Arizona, UMass Amherst, UIC, and UGA. You can look up my profile if you want.

I am very much in a similar situation to you. I have been wailisted by 6 schools. Purdue, UMN, Carnegie Mellon, UNC Chapel hill, UFlorida and UPitts. I need to make a decision but I have no idea what to do.

Semi-unrelated but did UNC explicitly tell you that you are on their waitlist? I applied there and have yet to receive an acceptance/waitlist/rejection, either via email or through the portal. When I emailed requesting an update ~1 month ago, I was told they will be making additional offers through April 15th but they didn't explicitly say that I was on the waitlist. Overall very unclear where I stand there.

No this is what was said by UNC chapel hill a month ago. (assumed this was a waitlist). I also emailed them a week ago but there was no response. However other schools specifically said that they have waitlisted me.

Anyone have any clue about UIC? Last I emailed they just said all applications are still under review. Have they sent any waitlist emails?

I got an email from them in January asking me if I were still interested in the program. Then I emailed in early March and they confirmed I was on a waitlist. I emailed them again this week, but no response.

I know right? CUNY Grad School (my only acceptance) wants me to make a decision already, but I honestly feel like I might have to wait until the 15th the way this is going. I'm assuming (I hope) I have until 11:59pm on the 15th.

This is what I am going to do. Hopefully the ones who got accepted will make their decisions quickly.
