I have shortlisted the following 9 universities to apply for a PhD position in Analytic Number Theory and Automorphic Forms:
1. Rutgers University
2. University of Minnesota
3. Ohio State University
4. Texas A&M University
5. University of Virginia
6. Purdue University
7. Boston College
8. Washington State University
9. University of Texas at Dallas
Could someone tell me how these universities are ranked in US for a math PhD programme?
P.S. I know that the rank of a university is not that important when compared to my compatibility with the university, supervisor and the programme. But I just want to get an idea about how selective are these universities? Especially, for an international student, so that I can prepare my applications accordingly.

Minnesota is ranked 20, not 30. They're the highest-ranked school on this list.

I would not pay much attention to US news. If you are interested in analytic number theory, the best program in your list is Virginia because of Ono. Then probably Rutgers. BC is also very strong because of its location, and they have a good number theory group of their own.

For Algebraic Number Theory, Boston University, University of Connecticut, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst are good options.
