When did you get a notification of a spot on the waitlist? I'm wondering if nothing from Columbia so far is just a rejection.

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
So did Columbia already send out the official offer? I don't think I see anybody on the forum or gradcafe report this, but it could highly be true given their small size of incoming students in recent years.
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
I believe there are some acceptances on the profile thread from both of these schools.
I’m not sure if not hearing back means they’re waiting to send rejections last or if maybe they’re still considering.
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Bracing for the Stony Brook rejection in a few days, that one's gonna hurt the most. Anyone heard anything from Irvine since that email saying they're reviewing applications earlier this month?
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Emailed about my status at UGA and they said they sent out first round offers and "aren't able to move forward with [my] application at this time" but will "be in touch if that changes". I count it as a rejection since they didn't mention a waitlist.
Purdue is doing a visit weekend on 3/22-23.

If anyone is accepted at University of Kentucky and doesn't plan to attend, please go ahead and decline the offer. I am on the wait list and so stressed as it's the only positive result I have gotten so far. Thanks!

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
I just declined the offer to Michigan State's Applied Math PhD program. Best of luck to those on the waitlist!
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Hi if anyone has an offer from University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) and has offers from better schools, PLEASE decline it. This is my dream program and I am currently waitlisted.
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
If anyone has been accepted to SUNY Binghamton and got funding but has a better offer please decline, I got accepted but without funding and it is my last chance. Also good luck to everyone else.
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Do you think not hearing back even though they’ve sent out waitlists is a rejection?

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Has anyone got acceptance from Kentucky? I have only seen a couple of Waitlists on the Applicant profile thread. Nothing on gradcafe either.

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Not sure about that, I would assume those that weren't contacted after an interview are on a waitlist of some sorts. But I truly don't know, that's just a guess! Maybe email the admissions people and inquire about your application?z2xz2 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 2:47 pmDoes this mean they’re done sending out acceptances?
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Anyone who wasn't at the UPenn open house is rejected, right? Some delusional part of me wants to send an inquiry email.

Thank you for the info!cleveryb wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 8:48 pmCan I ask where did you see this admit?rekker wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 8:12 pmI sure hope socoffeebeanbag wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 5:33 pm
From what I heard, their first wave could last until mid-March maybe.
I saw that one admit and thought it was gg for me already lol
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Has anyone been rejected from the University of Rochester? I saw a few acceptances on GradCafe.
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
So up to now most schools have made their decisions, and I can assume those I haven't heard from just silent-rejected me?

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
I was accepted without an interview. not sure if SB even does interviews. the open house is on march 28, so I am assuming the first wave of offers are still being sent out. otherwise they would have the open house earlier.
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Congratulations for SB admit! Thank you for the details.trivial_bundle wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 11:28 amI was accepted without an interview. not sure if SB even does interviews. the open house is on march 28, so I am assuming the first wave of offers are still being sent out. otherwise they would have the open house earlier.

When I asked Stony Brook last week, they told me not all acceptances were out and that they would be coming over the next few weeks.

Just to make sure that all of us get a chance to study in one of our dream places!
johnnyjohnjohns wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 6:50 amwell ideally you'd confirm at least a bit before, so that people on the waitlist have a chance of getting in. in all likelihood you'll decide where going a few weeks before the deadline.Abstract1 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 5:36 amOkay. So should I wait till acceptance deadline to accept the offer?MadMenDoMath wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 4:42 amYou should only accept when you are completely sure you are going to attend. Otherwise, It might affect those who are on the waitlist.

Have you reached out to the department after you got the waitlist email?ThrowawayForApplied wrote: ↑Wed Feb 28, 2024 3:37 pmHey, I got accepted at the USC Applied Math PhD program today! I am strongly considering accepting it, but I would like advice on how you all think the strength of their programs are. What are some other universities you believe have programs of similar strength to USC, I cannot get a good read online as it is seldom talked about.

I saw one person update their profile to say they got rejected, but that's all I've seen besides one waitlist. I was accepted a few days ago and will attend. Did you get in/plan to attend?

I haven’t seen any.

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Acceptance went straight to email (no portal update) for UCSD earlier today
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
I am also on the waitlist. I talked to their graduate advisor and it seems that their incoming class will be extremely small. From the numbers he provided me, I'd assume around 5-6. It's possible those accepted just didn't post on here or gradcafe.

well they made the waitlist sound so exclusive in the email
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Hello has anyone here heard from auburn? I saw an acceptance on grad cafe.
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Has anyone heard of ETH Zurich (Zurich GS Math) yet? It's been much longer than the 6 weeks for reviewing materials posted on their website.
