Not seeing anything about Brandeis, has anyone heard back yet?
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Has anyone else not heard anything from Columbia pure math? Should I assume this is a rejection or a waitlist? I'm not sure who to email to inquire about status.

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
If anyone has an offer from UNC Chapel Hill (Math) and is not planning on attending, I'd be extremely grateful if you could decline the offer BEFORE APRIL 15TH. I am possibly on the waitlist, and it is one of my dream schools. Best of luck.
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
If you’re not invited to a visitation day and also haven’t heard back, is it safe to assume this is a rejection?
Or does anybody know if they still send new offers after the visitation day?

You're right. Imediate rejection after inquiry...MadMenDoMath wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 10:08 amU of T never sends rejections until you ask them to. This is not fair though considering the application fee. We should at least deserve to get the decision on time.

I'm sorry to hear that. But this is ridiculous. Even after paying $100+ for application, we have to ASK for our REJECTION! I was wondering when Michael Moore is gonna make a documentary on "Mysterious Admission Process" in North America.

Has anyone heard of results from EPFL Math phd program? I emailed them last month and was informed that the results is expected to be out in second half of Feb, but no updates till now.

Heard back from the last place I was waiting for, and mostly decided on where I will commit. Not sure what is going to fill the void in my heart of scouring here and GradCafe for updates now...

Hi everyone. International math phd applicant.
I haven’t got anything from UT Austin, UMD, Purdue, TAMU, Rutgers, no interview, rejection or acceptance from these schools.
One university told me better to accept their offer before April, though it’s due at 15th, April on the document. I also declined Syracuse, good luck.
Is there any advice? Should I email to ask? If I am on the waitlist, should I wait as long as I can? Suffering a lot recently. Thanks.

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Has anyone in pure math heard anything from Stony Brook recently? I emailed at the start of March, and they said they expected more offers to go out "next week," which was a week or two ago. From what I can remember, the only things I have seen in gradcafe are for applied people.
Also, has anyone gotten any word from Texas at all? I sent an email to inquire, but haven't received a response.

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Anyone heard anything back from the University of Oklahoma? It's been more than two months! I haven't heard anything myself, and didn't see much related news from others.
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Stony Brook sent another branch of offers and rejections one or two weeks ago, but I received nothing. I asked them and they said I am on the waitlist. I guess you are the same.smoothstructure wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 1:54 pmHas anyone in pure math heard anything from Stony Brook recently? If you email Rutgers and Purdue, kindly let me know what they are saying? Actually does anyone have any updates about these places?mathapplicant24 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 3:46 amHi everyone. International math phd applicant.

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Hello, if anyone has received an offer from CUNY Graduate Center and have better offers, please decline offer from CUNY.
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
If you reach out to the graduate director at Rutgers, he will likely let you know your status in short order. I emailed last week and within an hour he replied with a rejection. I do not expect them to send anything unprompted until late April or early May based on my experience in the last few cycles.

Also, if you are invited to an open house for a university, how likely do you think your chances of acceptances are?

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Does anyone have updates on Columbia APAM? I was able to register for the admitted student visit day on the portal today, but I'm pretty sure the registration link says "Please note this event is only for students who have been admitted to graduate programs at Columbia Engineering," and did not let me register yesterday. Did anyone also encounter this? Is this a positive sign?
BTW the portal still say "Your application has been moved to review with the Faculty Committee. "

Does anyone know who should I email for application updates? Is it the director of graduate studies for the department or the general graduate admissions? I just want to know my status even if it is a rejection.

Hey guys. Has anybody heard back from the University of South Carolina? When are they expected to release their first round of acceptances?
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Just got waitlisted via email by UMass Amherst. "We have given your application a high rating." Looks like being nominated for the Spaulding-Smith Fellowship does NOT guarantee admission!
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Also got the waitlist email from amherst.
As for South Carolina, so far not a peep from them.

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Any updates on anyone's Kentucky waitlist? March is almost gone, so chances are fading away I think.

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Still nothing from GT, UIC, UCD, CUNY, Iowa State. Is it more likely that, based on results from here, that these are rejections they don’t care enough to send out, or possible waitlists
?
?
Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Hi,
Do anyone hear back from AMSC of UMD? By the way, if you are admitted to their program, but no longer interested, please decline the offer I really appreciate if you do.

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
GT has already sent out 2nd round offers, so no word yet from them is likely a rejection. UC Davis responded to update inquiry email by saying if you have not heard from them yet, then you are on their waitlist. How big that list is I have no idea.
Also, has anyone heard anything about Boston College?

Hello everyone. One university has told me that I am on their shortlist. ( Not IVY league)
Does anyone know what does it exactly mean?
How good are my chances?

Has anyone *recently* heard from UPenn or Georgia Tech (pure math)? Trying to decide if I'm on the waitlist or soft rejected (like we're all wondering). Thanks!

Re: 2024 Sweat Thread
Judging from previous years, GaTech seems to send two rounds of acceptances and rejections- one in February and one in late March or April. My guess is we should hear from in the next two weeksMathMinds10 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2024 1:31 pmHas anyone *recently* heard from UPenn or Georgia Tech (pure math)?
