Thank you very much for the information! I hope you get the offer letter soon and a nice TA/RA stipend. Could you help to post that if you receive those in the near future?Lilium wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 6:22 amHi one of them is me, first i got email for interview and one day later i got email that i was accepted, myasu was updated and admit letter was there, still no offer letteriknownothing wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 4:29 pmOn gradcafe there are two ASU posts, although none of them heard about funding. Have you received anything from this school? I'm getting nervous since it's one of my safety schools.
Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
Congratulations man. I'm a similar boat but sadly I didn't get a decision. Would you mind sharing more information from your acceptance letter? Did they say anything about whether there will be more rounds and when, or anything else about admissions?

well, I would say applying to 10 reaches leaves a high probability to get into none from the start

They said "official offer letters within the next few weeks", and another letter coming soon with financial information. They also sent details about when the grad student visit weekend is. No other info about admissions.iknownothing wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 2:22 pmCongratulations on the offer! Same here. Thank you. From previous discussions on other schools, I assume it's safe to say I'm cooked if the visit invitation is already out?lukrau wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 2:30 pmThey said "official offer letters within the next few weeks", and another letter coming soon with financial information. I don’t know. It wasn’t really an invite, they just told me the date. Tbh, when I said that I was being a doomer and intentionally negative to not get my hopes up about anything. I don’t think it’s that realistic and I wouldn’t get too worried yet.iknownothing wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 2:40 pmThank you. Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
Did anyone get an interview invitation for pure math from Oxford?
Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
My Stanford interview was exclusively math questions (some soft questions followed by some basic but technical ones) which stressed me out and I didn't answer well... Mind if I ask what field of math did you apply to?swrdhr38 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 3:13 pmYeah in the Stanford interview they told me they are finalising the list and that it is meant to be coming out sometime next week but not earlier. Also the interview was kinda chill and they didnt ask me math questions, so it might have gone out to everyone they are interested in (i.e. they are not using it as a tiebreak for borderline people).
Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
Just got an unofficial offer from UC Davis. Here is what the email looks like: https://tree.gdn/f/CCHmx0.png. Financial info pending, official letter soon. I have secured an external, conditional $40,000.00 fellowship if I decide to attend a University of California school for graduate school. It would be cool to be able to use it.

Have anyone heard back from UConn? On the reddit spreadsheet it shows interviews out?

What’s the scene with UCLA, Northwestern, Cornell, Columbia, UToronto? I know some people got accepted to UCLA last week but haven’t seen anything else (not even rejections) this week. What’s going on? (Two rejections, no offers yet, the radio silence is killing me now

Apparently someone got into Toronto yesterday, but I haven't seen anything for the other schools you listed.brumer_stark wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 7:29 pmWhat’s the scene with UCLA, Northwestern, Cornell, Columbia, UToronto? Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
Most schools won’t reject everyone until they have a guaranteed class size that they want. The UC schools usually reject pretty late because of this. Northwestern hasn’t sent anything from my knowledge. Columbia is usually mid February. Cornell should be relatively soon think?brumer_stark wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 7:29 pmWhat’s the scene with UCLA, Northwestern, Cornell, Columbia, UToronto? Do you know when Northwestern usually releases decisions? They’re definitely behind schedule compared to past years.brumer_stark wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 7:46 pmDo you know when Northwestern usually releases decisions? Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
I was interviewed by UConn yesterday. They told me the purpose of the interview was to test my English speaking, due to my low score in speaking.

Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
word on the street is that last year being a big win for graduate unions is a big loss for prospective students, since there is now confirmably less funding at certain top schools for this year's cohort
Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
I wouldn’t trust any such word on the street without any statistics to back it up.fredholm.alternative wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2025 1:26 amword on the street is that last year being a big win for graduate unions is a big loss for prospective students, since there is now confirmably less funding at certain top schools for this year's cohort
