You are probably waitlisted. However, I should add that their waitlist is usually very long.fredholm.alternative wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 3:09 pmthis may be my first non instant rejection, but more likely they have lost my application![]()

Great I didn't even receive the alert for notre dame from gradcafe I signed up for. Guess I'm rejected by both nd and gradcafeuser wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 2:52 pmsame here. I have applied to the pure program and heard nothing yet.

I'm seeing an acceptance from UMN on the 3rd and on the 4th - are they rolling these out or was this all at once?

Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
I didn't want to make a separate post for this but I'm just after some general advice. I've been accepted to the math masters at Bonn, and have also been waitlisted at UChicago. I haven't received any other offers from other US universities and though I haven't heard back from everyone, my application is not particularly strong so I don't think I will get in to those places (they're top 20 US).
If I get into UChicago, it is a better decision to go there rather than Bonn right? I have no funding for Bonn (though there is no tuition fees there and living costs are relatively cheap). Or is it a better decision to go to Bonn for masters, and then reapply for PhD programs after that. I've been a little nervous about the US with the recent political instability and it's consequences on graduate students' funding and just general life. Maybe it is relevant that the standard of maths courses at my undergraduate university appears much weaker than Bonn/UChicago (that may be true for most institutions but still).
Thanks!

You go to UChicago without question. There’s no guarantee you’ll get in anywhere better with an MS degree.32noinweinof wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 5:34 pmI didn't want to make a separate post for this but I'm just after some general advice. MIT have sent out some offers now apparently.

Agree with the above..... Better for U Chicago, PhD ... and you save 2 years of your life.NewAcct wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 5:38 pmYou go to UChicago without question. Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
Stanford application portal has changed. Earlier it was showing when all the documents and letters were submitted, but now that part is gone. They might release decisions soon. Another rejection incoming probably. Sigh!
Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
Not that I know of, my friends who applied and didn’t get in (yet) have no change to portal
Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
Also someone got accepted on Friday, so it’s possible acceptances might roll for a while until rejections. (For MIT)

I emailed them and they said decisions will release in mid-february or later. Considering the gradcafe post and the professor's words in the quote, am I already cooked?tqft01 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 3:37 pmA professor in the department told me that they will make some offers this week and they will probably make more offers the next weekMonkyDLuffy2001 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 2:09 pmHas anyone heard back from Notre Dame Pure Math? Anyone hear something from Purdue? One of my friends told me that he received an email to check portal. But I haven't seen anything here and gradcafe.

Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
In the past two admission cycles, they released their decisions on February 9th. At this point, I just want to move on. If they accept me, I will be happy because it is my dream school, but if they don’t, I just want to know as soon as possible so I can move on.themathguy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:06 amPurdue released their decisions on like feb 14 last year. idk whats going onUnknown101 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:04 amI didn’t hear anything from them. Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
idk, he told me he contacted with the coordinator before, and then he just received an email to check portal. Sounds horrible.. Maybe they're planning to release decisions.
Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
Stanford rejections just went out.
Re: 2025 Sweat Thread
One post from 2 years ago in this forum said that Purdue put 175 applicants on wl... Maybe some of us will not hear anything until Apr 15.
