Boston has sent some invites, visiting day is next week, perhaps after that some decisions will be made. Johns Hopkins recently rejected me as well. The others aren't on my list.

I'm doing a masters at Rutgers right now and have taken several graduate math courses. I can say the quality of instruction and research is top notch. The department is huge, leaving you many options for advisors.
Rent is a bit steep here in Jersey though (if you're planning on living alone). You may want to find roommates.
Cool! I just sent you a message.

Yeah, Katrina, I'm doing my masters at Rutgers right now too, so if you're looking for more perspectives, just ask.

Thanks for the info! Did Boston give you an invite?

My friend got into Caltech in late January, but I don't know of anyone else who has heard. I'm still waiting on NYU, CMU, and Oregon.

I have not heard from CU Boulder, University of Arizona, UC Davis, UCSB(stats), NCSU (waitlisted), and USC. All the programs are in Applied Math , except for UCSB. Could anyone please let me know if I still have the chance for those programs? Thank you.

Yo phusacon, I am in the same situation with you. I also applied to Arizona and Boulder. I have contacted the graduate coordinator recently and they told me I am waitlisted. Therefore, if someone who reject the offer, we can go.

Thanks kobeforever, I just found out that I am not even on the waiting list at UA, and cannot get in touch with Boulder though.

I was just rejected from UCSB Stats and Applied Probability. I see a couple of other rejections on GradCafe as well.
I wish you the best though!

Yo man, contact Professor Martinsson. He is the one you want to get in touch with. Good luck.

Hay anyone whose been waitlisted by Michigan for Pure Math received an interview or an offer. Just curious since for the people waitlisted in the Applied Math program seem to receive interviews before an offer is made. Also does anyone know how many people usually get waitlisted?

You know someone applying to their AIM program and got waitlisted?? Any chance to invite them to post their profiles here?

I'm on the waitlist at UMichigan for Pure Math. I have not had an interview. Yesterday I got an email saying that they are waiting to hear back from other applicants and will send me an update regarding my status the week of April 4th. I'm not sure how many are on the waitlist, but judging by gradcafe, I would guess that there are a lot of us.

Thanks lz32017. Just a quick question, did you ask them or was it an unsolicited email?

It was unsolicited. I did fill out the "interest survey" that they sent when they told me I was waitlisted, but I didn't send any additional emails after that.

Well its not looking good for me then. I also filled out that google form, but I never received the message this weekend. I'm hoping it was just a slight oversight since I really want to go to Michigan.

I was waitlisted for AIM at Michigan. My profile is somewhere on here. I actually had an interview with the program director earlier today.

That's terrific exacticum! I hope that you get in. Do you know if anyone who applied for Pure Math Ph.D has received anything?

I spoke to some students at the UCSD open house who were waitlisted at Michigan, and one who was accepted. The ones who were waitlisted were pure, and the one who was accepted was AIM if I remember correctly. So no, I don't know anyone in pure math who has received anything. Safe to assume the waitlist is packed though.

I emailed them and got this reply about a week ago:
"I am sorry, it is unlikely we will be able to extend an offer to you at this time. I am sorry I don't have better news for you."

Could you please show me the link?
For which school? In general, try typing:
"(School name) Prospective Math Grad Students 2016"
and then search for groups or pages. This works for most of the schools I mentioned above.
I couldn't find the link for UC Davis' group. Can you post or pm me the link?
