GRE Mathematics Test?

Guys, I am pretty new here and sorry if I am asking some already answered questions. But here is my situation: I have a decent GPA, solid research experience, solid GRE General Test, but I do not have the GRE Mathematics Test. Will absence of the subject test destroy my application for PhD in Statisitcs for top universities?

Statistics to me seems a branch or subdiscipline or applied maths, and I think PhDs in applied maths don't value the GRE subject as much as PhDs in pure maths do.
