pure math programs that are ADHD/LD-friendly (or not)

Post by fluffball » Fri Oct 18, 2019 4:13 pm

Any ADHDers out there or people with other learning disabilities/differences know about programs in pure math where students like us will have a good experience? Any places to avoid like the plague?

Fellow ADHD/aspergers here, applying this year. I don't know about the specific programs. Do you plan on disclosing in or post application?

I haven't decided yet whether I will disclose in the application process, and if I do it will be part of a larger narrative. I will definitely disclose if/when I get offers because I need to know exactly how they deal with ADHD students and what the departmental and university culture is in this regard. I don't want to end up someplace where they have the attitude is that a disability is the student's problem or that ADHD/LD students are less capable than neurotypicals so they get to "cheat" by having accommodations.
