Hi,
I have been looking at the admission results in the past years. I saw that some people mention interviews. Do these reviews require coming to campus? what kind of questions are asked in these interviews? How to prepare for them?
Thanks,
What exactly is an "interview" in grad school application?
Re: What exactly is an "interview" in grad school application?
I had gone through exactly 2 grad school interviews. Both from solid tier 2 programs. The obvious theme was that the interviewers where trying to gauge if I fit their programs mold. You will be asked the standard “ Why this program”, “What motivates your studies”, “what are your mathematical interests”. Now depending on the program you may be asked about specific research interests as well as your readiness for the rigors of grad level research.
Just be honest and sincere and you should be fine. Hope this helps.
