Multiple Scores

How do universities look at multiple scores? Do they take the highest, latest, average, etc?

I'd imagine that it largely depends on what schools you are going to apply to. I think that the schools look at both schools, and tend to weigh the most recent score heavily. Though some will do it differently. Like take the average.

BTW, how did your application process go?

cbreeden,
I ended up not applying. I figured my previous two scores were poor enough that it didn't make sense to take a shot and waste the money. However, I think this next time around, which may or may not be this next year, will be significantly different due to a VERY non-trivial change in my scores!

Congrats on the admit to Wisc! :)

Michigan for example looks only at the highest score. Did you not apply to SB? They don't even require GRE scores.

Well, I wish you the best of luck your next time around! I noticed that you took the GRE again -- I was thinking about taking it again this year myself. Do you feel a lot better about the test this time around?

cbreeden,
Thanks for your best wishes! I felt a ton better about it this time around. I noticed a few patterns in the exam that kept coming up with the way they test. While on the previous two exams I knew I biffed it I honestly think I got 80%+ this time around. How are you feeling about the UW-Madison dept.? I'm thinking about applying there next time around.

Oh, I love Madison. It's a beautiful city with a great selection of faculty. You definitely should apply next year :)

It depends on the schools selection procedure. Some schools look only for high scores and some for average.
