Hi everyone,
Long story short, I've struggled quite a bit during undergrad. I've been doing great the past few semesters, but my GPA is still just below a 3.0. Is it worth it to apply for PhD programs this cycle?
I have research experience & plan to submit a paper for publication early next year, but it will be after applications are due. I have one great recommendation and two decent ones from my math professors. I just want to know if I'll be wasting my money by trying to apply this year, and if so, what I can try to do over the next year to potentially improve my chances.
Any comments/advice appreciated, thanks! : D
Will a <3.0 GPA disqualify me from PhD programs?

Re: Will a <3.0 GPA disqualify me from PhD programs?
Someone from my school got a 2.5 undergrad GPA and got denied by all Ph.D programs. He also applied to a couple masters programs (some unfunded 1st year) and got accepted into a few. He finished his Masters with a thesis + 3.9 GPA and re-applied to (a totally disjoint set of) Ph.D programs and got accepted into a few.
